Every year, Madrid hosts Carrera de la Mujer Central Lechera Asturiana, a women's race that draws over 35,000 participants. It stands out as one of the most popular races on the European calendar, harnessing the power of sporting events for a greater social good. In 2026 the race will be held on Sunday, 10 May, starting at Paseo de la Castellana.
The heart of the capital will once more be transformed into a sea of pink as runners over the age of 8 take to the central streets to increase the visibility of women’s fight against breast cancer. With 90 minutes to complete the race, runners set off for the almost 7km route on Paseo de la Castellana (between Nuevos Ministerios and Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz) and cross the finish line on Paseo de Camoens in Oeste Park.
